Synopsis
“Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace” takes us back decades before the events of the original trilogy. Jedi Knights Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) become embroiled in a galactic conflict when they encounter Queen Amidala (Natalie Portman) of the peaceful planet Naboo, under siege by the ruthless Trade Federation.
Their mission leads them to Tatooine, where they meet a young slave boy named Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd), who exhibits a strong connection to the Force. Qui-Gon believes Anakin is the “Chosen One” destined to bring balance to the Force.
As the Jedi face off against a mysterious Sith Lord named Darth Maul (Ray Park), the fate of the galaxy hangs in the balance.
